The
assembled lower fuselage has had plastic removed to allow the Tamiya
lower dive brake to fit in with a minimum gap. I left all of the
Matchbox side fuselage in place,
except just aft of the wing
where a minimum was removed to allow the Tamiya lower wing to fit.
The Tamiya tail wheel bay was glued to one fuselage half before
they
were joined, a piece of scrap plastic was glued to the top of
the tailwheel bay and drilled out to receive the Tamiya tail wheel
strut. A flat round antenna has
been sanded off behind the dive brake recess, Air Force A-1E's did not have that in any photos I have.
