The Emergency Shelter Home
At the Shelter Home, our mission is to provide emergency interim care to children in crisis and stabilize each child through comprehensive services. Our doors are open 24 hours per day to welcome children who need our help. Child Protective Services bring children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect and abandonment. Our boys get the support and transport to obtain an education, training, jobs, and stabilization.

Most of the children we serve arrive traumatized, hungry, sick and dirty. They often bring with them anxiety, anger, depression, shattered self-esteem, confusion, and self-destructiveness; many of them require intensive treatments. All of them need our safe, nurturing environment and the comfort and care of our well-trained, committed staff.

In addition to basic food and shelter, the Shelter Home provides and/or facilitates crisis intervention, case management, psychological assessment and mental health treatment. Many of our residents have never seen a doctor or dentist. We provide medical and dental care, immunizations and treatment for physical and developmental disabilities.
