PROJECTS

Spring Lake School on the Yolo County Fairgrounds (looked after by the YCHS) is available for visits from school groups (free of charge). Our wonderful and dependable schoolmarms and school masters welcome these class groups and introduce them to life as it was lived in the many one-room schoolhouses that dotted this county in 1890. Historical lighting at the Woodland Library - along with the Rose Club and Friends of the Library, we contributed to installing the lights, and there are more to come.

Gibson Museum - we work closely with the museum and our president serves on the board.

History in the elementary schools - we have provided funds to an outreach program at Dingle Elementary School and are talking with Beamer Elementary about establishing a program there.

County Courthouse - we would like very much for one of the courtrooms in the old building to become a living history setting for 8th, 10th and 12th grade history classes and English classes (imagine seeing the courtroom scene from To Kill a Mockingbird).

Hattie Weber Museum in Davis, open Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10-4 PM.
We continue to support their project of renovating the WPA bulding to use as an annex.

Contact us for more information on any of these projects.
