The elevators were cut free of the stabilizers and lowered.  Hellcat photos seem to be parked with the elevators in a variety of positions, as
often up as down, and most often in line with the stabilizers, but the airplane looks more live to me with them in a active position.  The slight
impression of lightening holes at the top of the rudder is what is left of pretty deep impressions found at the tip of all moving tail
surfaces on the kit.  I filled them with plastic disks and superglue.
