Some care is required in attaching the Tamya stabilizers, as the taper of the Matchbox aft fuselage is less than the unused Tamiya aft end, and the front 1/8"
of the attaching tabs have to be removed to get the trailing edge of the elevator aligned with the leading edge of the elevator. I used thick super glue to
attach the stabs, and made sure the elevator hinge line was straight, which created gaps at the front of the stabilizers. The gaps were filled with
super glue and sanded flush. The A-1E had movable trim tabs just outboard of the fixed ground adjustable tabs on each elevator, after I took this
photo I sawed in to the first panel line of each elevator in two places replicate the tabs.
