The Paul Plecan Simplex


The Simplex was designed by Paul Plecan to be an easy to build model.  It was published in the February 1941 Air Trails magazine.  It has nice flying
characteristics in the glide and under medium power.  It will climb near vertical with the 480 size motor shown on the plan but does
have a tendency to dutch roll at full power.

Plan Area 3.995 Sq Ft  575.9 sq in  Projected Area 3.905 Sq Ft
Plan Span 60 inches T/C 11.6  AR 6.25 Tail Area 144 
Weight of prototype with 2200 mah battery 42 ounces.

The plans are detailed with building notes and show every part.  Plans are $20 plus postage.  Laser cut partial kits are available
for $35 plus postage.  Strip wood and sheet balsa will need to be added .
