Carl Goldberg's 1938 Comet Clipper

GEMS Clipper Mk II prototype

This is the second version of the Clipper.  Both were sold as Kit T-7.  The first version, which had a single dihedral joint has in later years been called the Mark 1,
and this version which has polyhedral has been called the Mark 2.  As near as I can determine, the first version was sold for one year, 1937, and then the
polyhedral version replaced it in 1938.  The "Mark II" has a slightly shorter cowling, side stringers on the fuselage, and a completely different spar structure in the wing.

I was able to find an original Mark II kit still complete in it's original packaging and based the plans on that kit.  The airfoil transitions go from undercambered
at the root to symmetrical at the tip.  The only way to produce accurate ribs was to scan the original die cut parts as the ribs were not included on the
Comet plans.  I set up the ribs with feet so the wing can be built on the plans, and drew the parts to include a transition to 1 degree of washout from
the polyhedral joint to the tip.
