To make the elevator removable, the end bays were removed and attached to the stabilizer.  Center marks were drawn on the elevator ends in line with the axis of the centerline 3/16 carbon fiber joiner.

1/8 ply keepers were made to provide for the center elevator hinge.  For a permanent attachment they can be glued, however later photos will show a
removable option.  After assembly blocks will be placed behind the elevator spar to prevent forward movement of the carbon fiber joiner.

3/32 brass tubes were inserted in holes drilled on the hinge centerline marks.  1/16 music wire pins were cut to length, and on the left side a fine wire was soldered on to allow removal of the pin from the elevator.
A balsa stop prevents the 1/16 music wire from coming out of the tube in the stabilizer.  The fine wire is flexible enough to keep misalignment from preventing movement of the 1/16 wire pin.

The covering will secure the pin in the attached position.

The right side pin need not be removable, as once the center and left sides are free the elevator can move to the left and come free.
